About
Having been born on Police Day has not taught me much in the way of respect for authority. Fearing them is one thing, respect - not so much. A carefree attitude to life and general disdain for work pretty much sums up my whole life up to about a few years ago. Then I suddenly became an adult. By mistake, really - I’m still not sure I’m ready to accept that thing called ‘maturity’. But what the heck, here I am. So who am I?
Male, software engineer who would really rather be a helicopter pilot or a movie director, supports Liverpool FC and hates Salman Khan, is in love with Preity Zinta, thinks blogging is a glorious waste of time, and would, given half the chance, veg out permanently in front of the TV for the rest of his natural life.
This blog began during a time when I was in limbo. I used to read blogs sparingly (and only certain popular ones), but one day I came across PPS and discovered an amazingly vibrant Malaysian blogosphere that I never knew existed. I yearned to be a part of this community, and hence this blog.
I’ve dreamed of being a writer (who hasn’t?), and while I am currently unable to devote much time and energy to that passion, at least this blog allows me to channel whatever limited time and energy I have into practising what T-Boy refers to as ‘the Craft‘.
Now, for other impressions on sashi-isms:

This is a WordPress-powered blog with a plain template, and a nice picture of the Twin Towers as the header. […] Sashi seems to enjoy writing and has some really long posts, but thankfully only a small portion is placed on the main page with a “Read More” link for readers who are interested in the full story.I particularly enjoyed his Singapore escapade. The 3-part-series was well written and made me want to read more. He updates pretty regularly which is good - I’m always disappointed if I find a blog I enjoy only to find that updates are once a week or less.
Sashi writes about everything under the sun but his posts aren’t boring (with the exception of his football posts - I’m not a big football fan, can you tell?). His English isn’t flawless but he has a way of drawing the reader in with well-chosen words and phrases. And he also has quite an imagination, as his fictional posts show!
I really enjoyed reading this blog.

I think your blog is pretty decent. Clean and easy to read. Don’t worry too much. Looking fancy is not exactly functional (unless you are looking to bust your bandwidth limit.)

The Orangutan Image

There are currently less than 30,000 orangutans found in the wild today. The vast majority of them are found in Borneo, while only about 6000 or so are found in Sumatra, and these numbers are declining fast.
The major threat to the orangutan is loss of habitat. The WWF estimate that up to 80% of the orangutan’s natural habitat has disappeared in the last 20 years, and only 2% of what remains is legally protected. (WWF UK)
If you, like me, are fond of this cute and immensely admirable creatures, you might want to help in WWF’s ongoing conservation efforts with many reputable Orangutan Conservation agencies.
