The Blog Critic Review and IE Headache

Ok, first of all, a big thank you to the Blog Critic for reviewing my blog and giving it a healthy score.

I completely agree with his comments regarding the length of the sidebar, and I commented as much on his post:

I agree with the sidebar thing - I’m going to move the blogroll to a links page on its own, and I’m going to remove the categories once I install a Technorati tag plugin for the posts.

Anyway, thanks again for the encouraging review, it’s stuff like this that motivates lowly bloggers like me to keep on rolling…

Digg, Pligg, SpyMy

You know Digg.com, don’t you? If you haven’t heard of it before (how was your vacation to Mars?), here’s the definition from their website:

Digg is a technology news website that employs non-hierarchical editorial control. With digg, users submit stories for review, but rather than allowing an editor to decide which stories go on the homepage, the users do.

You can read all about them at Digg’s FAQ section.

Singapore: Illustrated (Part TIGA Abdul)

Read Part One first.
Then read Part Two.

It was after 6 pm or so when we finally left the Singapore Science Centre. We walked to a shopping centre where we were informed we could catch a bus that would take us directly to the Singapore Zoo. We were looking a bit haggard, tired and a little bored, especially after the non-rewarding experience of the Science Centre.

While waiting for a bus to come, I noticed something that warmed my heart a little bit. A car (a Mercedes Benz, if you must know) arrived and parked at the bus stop. Yes, a driver parked his car on a spot designated for buses only.

Suddenly, I felt like I was back in KL again. *sniff*

What the..?

The Blogger Word Verification feature that you find when you want to post a comment in Blogger-enabled blogs can really be mind-bogglingly frustrating to crack.

The randomness of not only the letters generated but shape, font and color of the letters as well can occasionally combine to defeat the brain’s ability to distinguish meaningful characters from rubbish.

Singapore: Illustrated (Part Antara DUA Darjat)

Read Part One first.

Right. So it was raining cats and dogs and various species of birds as well. What a way to mark your first few hours in a foreign country.

We quickly came to the conclusion that we obviously couldn’t do much outdoor activities. There were some places where we could have gone that would have protected us from the elements, but most of the ones I could think of that moment were either museums or libraries or a few non-descript locations in Geylang, none of which interested my fellow travellers.

So I figured we should do what most geeks would end up doing - visit the Singapore Science Centre.

So there we were, 3 tired-looking and sleepy hunks congregating among the weary KL urbanites and regular 2-cent touristas at KL Sentral waiting for the train to come in. We passed the time making inane conversation and trying to catch the eye of that hot looking chick nearby, who ignored us so completely she must have been a lesbian.

One One Two-Oh-Oh-Six

Happy New Year, ladies and gents, boys and girls, cats and dogs, and pests of all sizes!

New year, new theme. Well, not so new, a few other bloggers have the same theme, but heck, I like it and I’m gonna stick with this.

Mental note: New Year resolution # 853 - Stop changing themes every other month.

The blog is upgraded - finally.

Phew! Finally, sashi-isms has been upgraded to WordPress version 2.0.

Now all that remains to be seen is whether I can ping PPS or trackback to anyone…

UPDATE: A test ping to the PPS Ping Test page is successful. Phew!!

Thanks to Ah Knight for describing the fix here.

UPDATE 2: Yes, I’ve changed the theme back to my previous template. I just discovered that the Rin theme had problems displaying the ‘previous‘ and ‘next‘ page links like the ones you can see at the bottom of the homepage. So, once again, the search is on for another new theme…
